The Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney filed a felony stealing charge against a Webb City woman who allegedly stole $2,277.59 worth of goods from the 15tth Street Walmart in Joplin.
According to the probable cause statement, Chelsea Hobbs (DOB 1990) stole the items during 14 visits to the store from July 3 through August 25 by skipping scans on some of the items she took through the self-service checkouts by switching price tags.
The items she allegedly stole included food, clothing and accessories, the probable cause statement said.

Yes, all these self-checkouts have cost stores Billions of Dollars - Research reveals self-checkout machines are a significant driver of shrink, with losses amounting to 3.5% of sales – or more than 16 times more loss than traditional cashiers. Retail shrink costs U.S. retailers $100 billion a year.
So, maybe this automation wasn't the best idea, thinking that laying off or not hiring checkers would save money, instead they invested all their hiring into personal shoppers so lazy shoppers didn't have to get off their butts and go shopping - and ended up losing Billions of Dollars annually - through the check-out line. SMART-IDEA!
Wammin be shoplifting
6:39 I agree with your first paragraph but the second paragraph is incorrect. These stores still have a lot of shoppers inside them but have also increased their revenue by having the pickup side. The pickup side obviously isn’t loosing any money due to theft, like the self checkouts do. Not all shoppers who do pickup is being lazy. It’s a matter of convenience and time management that works for a lot of people. These stores could still have checkout lines with checkers while continuing the pickup side. Just lose the self checkout lines. A win for everyone.
I promise you the pickup side does have theft extras for friends
11:50 surely with all the cameras, those employees will be caught and should be prosecuted.
Poor people sometimes have poor ways say a prayer for her
I believe
This is the right thing to do. Pray. We all mess up make mistakes make bad decisions and it's not right blasting her all over social. I can think of lots worse they should be blasting people on. She's young, don't crusifer her I'm sure she is hating herself enough. Have a heart. I'm sure lots of you have done worse!
