Joplin High School principal leaving; Seneca R-7 hires Eggleston as superintendent

Joplin High School Principal Brandon Eggleston told staff this morning that he will be leaving the district to become superintendent of the Seneca R-7 School District.

Eggleston will replace Jim Cummins, who recently resigned to take over as Neosho R-5 superintendent following the resignation of Dan Decker.

Eggleston has been JHS principal for the past two years, following five years as North Middle School principal.


He began his education career at Joplin Schools as a teacher at North. He has been in the district for 19 years. He received a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Missouri Southern State University,  a master’s degree in education administration from William Woods University; a specialist degree in educational leadership from Missouri State University, Springfield; and a doctorate degree in educational administration from Lindenwood University, St. Charles..

Definitely a step down from Cummins. No real experience and a diploma mill degree.
