(From Sen. Denny Hoskins, R-Warrensburg)
“Today marks a new beginning for the Show-Me State. After a very successful legislative session, we have set the bar high for supporting Missouri businesses and attracting more jobs to our great state. Only by working together can the legislative and executive branch build a better future for Missouri.
“The last several months have been challenging, and I know we still have some challenging times ahead. I will not let the difficulties of the last few months define our state and the good, hard-working Missourians who live and work here. We are the Show-Me State, and with your help we are ready to show the rest of the world how Missouri really is a great place to live, work and raise a family.
“Some people may want to continue to dwell on the past, and I realize it is sometimes hard to let go of any animosity developed during this time. I, like many of you, found no joy in these frustrating and awkward circumstances. To move our state forward, we must learn from the mistakes made, put any differences aside and show the world Missouri is a leader with successful businesses, top-notch schools and a quality way of life.
“Governor Mike Parson is a good man with a true public servant’s heart. As a farmer and former county sheriff, he is a law and order type of guy with high moral character. As your state senator, I’m ready to work with Gov. Parson and lead Missouri forward to even brighter days to come.”
