Reluctant friend fingers Joplin man as killer during preliminary hearing

Kosaksy Phillip, 25, Joplin, was bound over for trial following a preliminary hearing this morning in Jasper County Circuit Court in which Phillip's friend identified him as the killer.

Phillip is charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the August 29 shooting death of Diamond J. Bradley, 33, Joplin, at the Economy Inn and Suites, 1700 W. 30th Street. The autopsy showed Bradley was shot four times, including once in the chest, once in the hip and twice in the lower leg.



Kosaksy's friend, Jaden Collins, indicating he was reluctantly testifying, said he had gone to the hotel room to get high, the gun Phillip used to kill Bradley was his, and Phillip shot Bradley four times.


Kosaksy was already awaiting trial on felony drug and tampering charges.

Kosaksy's next hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 17. with Judge Dean Dankelson presiding.
