Benefit raffle, silent auction planned for Sarah Burton family, Joplin woman missing for three months

(UPDATE: This event has been postponed and will be rescheduled at a later date.)

A benefit raffle and silent auction for the Sarah Burton family will be held 5 p.m. Friday, October 12, at the Silver Creek Community Building.

Burton, 28, Joplin, has been missing since July 16. She was last seen in the area of 10th and Rex.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts should call the Joplin Police Department at 417-623-3131.

And what EXACTLY will these funds be going to?? Anything other than hiring private investigators would constitute a scam, in my opinion.

I also want to know what the proceeds of this benefit will actually be used for? Seems strange to be raising money for someone who is missing. I have never heard of this before??

It takes lots of money to find missing person making flyers bracelets shirts decals anything to get her face and flyer out there so she can be found and she has children. If u cant help offer a prayer dont put ppl down for asking for help wen its needed these ppl arent responsible for her disappearance but tgey do need help finding her and face it they arent gettting much help so her face and story needs spread in every way they can and that takes more money than u could imagine they got come out the money for that and to live every day and take care of her kids too

Try writing an explanation that makes sense that explains how the $ that is raised will be spent.

She does have kids that family members have been supporting and providing for since her disappearance. A 3 yr old and one under the age of 1. That means diapers formula clothes food etc. And yes it takes money for fliers search parties investigators and so on.
