(From Missouri Southern State University)Missouri Southern State University (MSSU) and the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law are to enter into a memorandum of agreement to establish a pre-law pathway program, giving qualified MSSU students a streamlined opportunity to pursue a law degree.
Set to be signed on Oct. 23 at 3 p.m. in the Billingsly Student Center Ballroom on the MSSU campus, the agreement outlines a collaborative effort between the institutions to support MSSU undergraduates who intend to pursue legal studies, with a focus on admission to UMKC’s “90+” law program. The program allows students to begin law school after completing at least 90 undergraduate credit hours at MSSU, with first-year law coursework applied toward their bachelor’s degree.
"This new partnership invites driven and high-achieving students to begin law school after just three years of undergraduate study - saving time, reducing costs, and fast-tracking their entry into a legal career,” said Dr. Nicole Shoaf, associate professor of International and Political Affairs. “For those who dream of advocating for justice, leading corporate initiatives, or shaping policy, this is an opportunity to launch your dream career that much sooner."
Under the agreement:MSSU students may apply to the UMKC School of Law’s 90+ program after completing 90 credit hours.
Admitted students will have 30–35 hours of their first-year law school credits counted toward MSSU degree completion.
Competitive applicants are expected to have a minimum 3.3 GPA and an LSAT score at or above the 50th percentile of the most recent UMKC Law entering class (currently 155).
Students who do not meet these benchmarks may still receive preferential interview consideration.
MSSU will provide pre-law advising and coordinate student preparation and communication with UMKC Law.
The agreement also includes a 3+3 accelerated program, which allows students to complete both undergraduate and law degrees in six years.

This is cool news
I would hope that people really do research and find out what is truly the best career path going into the future - The best college career paths for the future are in growing, in-demand fields like technology, healthcare, and engineering, which offer strong job security and earning potential.
The United States has the most lawyers overall, with over 1.3 million active lawyers. Hopefully one-day the US will reduce the number of frivolous lawsuits allowed, by if you bring a frivolous lawsuit and you lose the defendant will receive a windfall amount, including all attorneys and court costs paid for.
One-fourth of all the lawyers in the country are in just two states: New York (187,656 lawyers) and California (175,883 lawyers) - you would assume that since you have 2 (two) of the most leftist liberal states in America.
New York has so many lawyers because it is the financial and commercial headquarters of the US and until recent decades the entire world, and still ranks highly on the world stage.
California has a lawyer per capita of right around average for the whole US, it just has a huge population.
Texas and Florida are number 3 and 4 on the list, also because of their large populations. Not everything boils down to which political team you root for.
TruthTeller - Thank you!! A very well informed response. I agree, everything is not because of political affiliation but of the amount of population living within a region. I personally am glad to see this new endeavor coming to our community. Lawyers are needed everywhere for multiple reasons, not just for lawsuits.
