Former Joplin Police Chief arrives to file for R-8 Board

At least two candidates are now outside the Joplin R-8 Administration Building now waiting for 7:30 a.m. to arrive and this year's filing period to open.

As noted earlier in the Turner Report, Jeff Koch, who finished fourth in the April 2014 election, arrived around 10 p.m. Monday evening and camped outside the Administration Building in a 2006 St. Louis Cardinals World Champion chair.

Around 40 minutes ago or so, former Joplin Police Chief Lane Roberts arrived. Roberts, along with Koch, Jennifer Martucci, and Shawn McGrew, submitted their names as candidates when board member Dawn Sticklen resigned after enrolling her daughter at Webb City High School.

The board selected McGrew, who finished sixth in the April 2014 election, to take Sticklen's place.

Martucci is expected to file, as is McGrew and current Board President Annie Sharp. The other incumbent, Jim Kimbrough, has indicated he will not seek re-election.

What a great candidate the police chief would be. Really Shawn McGraw how would he have nerve to run , who would possibly vote for him. He needs to go away.
