THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING DRIZZLE...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 9 AM CST THURSDAY. * TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS AND THE MISSOURI OZARKS GENERALLY ALONG AND NORTH OF HIGHWAY 60...OR A JOPLIN TO EMINENCE LINE FROM LATE THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY MORNING. A WINTRY MIX COULD IMPACT AREAS AS FAR NORTH AS A FORT SCOTT KANSAS TO SPRINGFIELD MISSOURI LINE BY THE AFTERNOON COMMUTE THEN OVERSPREAD THE AREA DURING THE EVENING. * SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF AROUND ONE HALF TO ONE AND A HALF INCHES ARE EXPECTED.
