So you want to be a McKinley Elementary kindergarten teacher

The Joplin R-8 School District posted an opening this morning for a kindergarten teacher at McKinley Elementary School for the 2015-2016 school year.

As usual, the job description is lengthy enough to be serialized on HBO and still fails to include the words "must be able to deal with Principal Terry Hart."

Thankfully, the description makes certain that anyone who is thinking about applying for this kindergarten teaching job knows that he or she will have to supervise students. This will help those who think they may end up teaching kindergarten in an empty classroom.

The person will also have to "provide instruction to students," have lesson plans, and needs to show up for work.

How is it that other school districts are able to hire teachers without these ludicrous job descriptions. Sources tell the Turner Report that the people who are in charge of hiring at area school districts have an odd belief that anyone looking teaching for a teaching job knows the job will require supervising students, preparing lesson plans, and showing up for work.

Fortunately, with Tina Smith in charge of hiring, with her lengthy background in education, Joplin is leading the pack in making sure these things are not taken for granted.

The job description is printed below:

Great hard hitting article. Thanks for your investigative reporting.

You have to think like a bureaucrat!

The things you call ludicrous are what the real bureaucrat is proud of.

Perhaps you should google some of these phrases to see if other school districts have started using them.

Slow news day on a rainy day. Articles like this help me know why I don't contribute my money to your "news."
