Mark Rohr applies for Springfield, Ohio city manager position

Former Joplin City Manager Mark Rohr is a candidate for the city manager position in Springfield, Ohio.

Rohr, who was in Joplin from 2006 until 2014, when the City Council fired him by a 5-4 vote, was city manager in League City, Texas from 2014 to 2016.

The Springfield News-Sun reports more than 20 people, including Rohr, have applied for the position, which will become vacant when the current city manager steps down in January.

Springfield has a population of slightly less than 60,000. The city manager has 493 employees and supervises a $43 million budget.

Rohr originally comes from Ohio and had his first city manager positions in the state.

Very doubtful that Rohr will ever be hired as a City Mgr ever again. Same issues, different cities. I think his track record speaks for itself.
