As he completes his final session in the State Senate, Sen. Ron Richard, R-Joplin, speaks in the accompanying video about how fortunate he was to be able to spend 12 of his 16 years in the legislature in leadership positions.
The term-limited Richard also notes, "Term limits are there for a reason," adding that they provide new blood to the legislature.

Looking at Ron Richard walking out the door reminds that term limits have some good features!
Really? No one is perfect but southwest Missouri will feel the loss of Ron Richard. He has been elected to top leadership posts twice, in both chambers. Don't expect that the remainder of your lifetime. I wonder what it would take to satisfy Turner Report readers. Those who lead like Richard get slammed and those who do nothing like Long are equally reviled.
