Hartzler on Trump speech: Open borders have caused drugs to be leaked into our Missouri communities

(From Fourth District Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler)

Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler (MO-04) reacted to the President’s speech last night calling on Republicans and Democrats to come together to provide increased funding for border security:

“The President is right: we must prioritize border security. Open borders have caused the lives of loved ones to be stolen, women and children to be victimized by traffickers, and drugs to be leaked into our Missouri communities. Submitting to the status quo is hurting our American way of life, and it cannot continue.”

Hartzler is lying, most drugs entering the US coming in through border checkpoints, in trucks and hidden compartments in vehicles, not some illegal toting them through the desert on foot. If you can’t stop them there with technology, what damn good does a fence do? Supply and demand is responsible for drugs in Missouri communities, prohibition didn’t work for alcohol, nor will a fence work for drugs.

How do you know? Is there a source were drug smugglers all check in so that these numbers can be tracked? Furthermore, even if more come from legal checkpoints, why not stop what you can? What good does a fence do? A chain link fence, would do little good. That is why a more substantial barrier is needed. You know, like the one that Hillary, Obama, Bernie, Chuck and Nancy all wanted until Trump said he wanted it too.

Those figures come from US customs and Border Patrol. They do try to stop what they can, but with smugglers enveloping the drugs in carbon, vacuum sealing and hiding in hidden compartments in vehicles is where most enter. Where in the hell does a fence, chain link, steel slat, or concrete stop that? If you think people are carrying them across open borders instead of carry water through the desert, you’re a fool. Technology today allows for building a virtual wall that allows agents to respond to violation. Do you know that people that own property along the border don’t want the wall. Think about the legal cost of buying all that property, following lawsuits, and cost to build that wall through the desert, over mountains. and right through the middle of farms, ranches, homes, etc... it is ridiculous, and a virtual wall would reduce costs. None of the people you listed supported a concrete wall, you know like the one Trump promised Mexico would pay for

Ok.
Let's talk about Democrat leadership flipping on the issue.

Ok.
Let's talk about the Republican House, the Republican Senate and the President doing nothing on the issue for two years.

Ok.
We can. But let's not dodge topics that show Dems put politics before the country's wellbeing.

Post some links to a legitimate news source like Fox News or Rush Limbaugh or it never happened!

What kind of wall could we build locally to address all the meth made right here in the for states?

Google it, Sister. I am not your researcher. Democrat leadership has called for a barrier at the border until Trump wanted a wall. He has now backed off and said he would be happy with a barrier, but now Democrats want nothing. Video and audio clips of Dem leadership is abundant. Look it up, Mary.

Support your local merchants. Buy meth from these hardworking entrepreneurs, made with locally sourced ingredients and chemicals from right down the street at Dollar General.
Buy American!

Demand doesn't go away. Drugs are coming in from Mexico, but if that bogus wall is built, the meth labs will fire up again here.

Steve, you always seem to have a real logical view of the world. What you are saying is, since tighter borders wouldn't stop the flow of illegal drugs completely, why bother? Forget that it would reduce the flow because if it doesn't stop it completely it isn't worth the effort. You my kind sir are brilliant.

Stevie Baby, you know the difference between meth and heroine? One comes up across the Mexican border and the other comes across the Kansas state line. Now, if you can't get a handle on both of them, doesn't it make sense to get a handle on at least one of them? Not sure your post was entirely thought through.
