Nixon's right to work veto upheld, local legislators vote to override
Right to work has failed in Missouri this year, as the House of Representatives voted 96-63 to override the veto, falling 13 votes shy of the number needed for the override.
All six Joplin area legislators- Charlie Davis, R-Webb City, Tom Flanigan, R-Carthage, Mike Kelley, R-Lamar, Bill Lant, R-Pineville, Bill Reiboldt, R-Neosho, and Bill White, R-Joplin voted to override Nixon's veto.

Guess Union members will continue to have to pay dues to support politicians that they otherwise would not. Have fun folks.
My family has experienced the pros and cons of a union job. My husband (who's union) makes an exceptionally great wage plus amazing benefits, but if there's a company wide layoff tomorrow we'd be affected. You have to take the good with the bad. We actually did experience a layoff back in 2008 but a few years later he was able to get back on with them. If it's up to the head honchos of any corporation we would all work for nothing, as is the case in most of America already, why do you think the middle class is disappearing?

So join the union. Just don't force others to do do too.
You do not want to pay dues, then do not apply for a job at a Union Shop. You want the union scale but you do not want to pay your own way.
We should give all unions in Joplin money, just like we do the Chamber of Commerce.
