A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST SUNDAY. * TIMING...A WINTER STORM WILL CONTINUE TO IMPACT THE REGION TODAY INTO TONIGHT...WITH ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW...SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN EXPECTED. * SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...5 TO 7 INCHES OF SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE FROM THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH TONIGHT FOR LOCATIONS ALONG AND NORTHEAST OF A NEWTON TO MADISON LINE. THE REMAINDER OF THE WARNING AREA CAN EXPECTED BETWEEN 1 AND 4 INCHES OF SNOW WITH THE LOWER AMOUNTS OVER FAR SOUTHEAST KANSAS. SLEET IS ALSO EXPECTED TO MIX WITH THE SNOW ON SATURDAY. * ICE ACCUMULATIONS...OF A QUARTER INCH OR GREATER ARE EXPECTED OVER SOUTHEAST KANSAS TODAY. * IMPACTS...WEEKEND TRAVEL MAY BECOME DIFFICULT OR IMPOSSIBLE ACROSS THE WARNING AREA DUE TO ICING ON UNTREATED ROADS AND OVERPASSES.
