Highway 59 was closed for more than two hours Thursday night after a two-vehicle accident in which a Granby man was killed.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol report, Randall Couch, 25, Granby, driving a 2006 Mazda 3, southbound on Missouri 59 four miles east of Neosho, at 9:50 p.m. crossed the center line and struck a 2004 Freightliner Tractor driven by Steve Breesawitz, 58, Goodson, head-on.
Newton County Coroner Mark Bridges pronounced Couch dead at the scene.
Breesawitz suffered moderate injuries and was treated at Freeman West in Joplin.
Couch's death was the 115th in the Highway Patrol's Troop D area for 2013.
