Arkansas sisters killed in three-car accident in Pineville

Two Bentonville, Arkansas, sisters were killed Thursday afternoon in a three-car crash four miles east of Neosho on U. S. 71 in Pineville.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol report, the McDonald County Coroner B. J. Goodwin pronounced Bethany Boxx, 20, and Katelyn Box, 16, dead at the scene. A third sister, Gracen Boxx, 18, suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Freeman Hospital in Joplin. The father, David Boxx, 51, who was driving, suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Rogers, Ark. His wife, Janet Boxx, 50, had minor injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital, Bentonville. Another passenger, O'Rane Williams, 21, Conway, Ark., suffered moderate injuries and was airlifted to Mercy Hospital, Springfield.

The accident occurred when a northbound Dodge Ram truck driven by Troy Robins, 19, Pineville, changed lanes in front of a Roger Wilson, 47, Muldrow, Okla.. The Wilson vehicle, a 2013 Chevrolet 2500, hit the Robins vehicle in the rear, causing him to cross the center of the road and hit the Boxx vehicle, a 2000 Toyota Sienna van on the driver's side, knocking the van off the road and causing it to overturn.

The accidents were the 113th and 114th fatalities for Troop D in 2013.

My heart breaks for this family and those involved. So very, very sad, and right after Christmas...

My heart aches for this family. I know the heartache of loosing one child but can't imagine having to loose 2. God Bess

I know the family very well. Bethany was like a sister. Still hurts. Don't understand.
