WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM CST THIS AFTERNOON... THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW AND FREEZING DRIZZLE IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM CST THIS AFTERNOON. * SHORT TERM TRENDS...RECENT REPORTS FROM THE KANSAS AND MISSOURI DEPARTMENTS OF TRANSPORTATION... AIRPORT OBSERVATIONS...AND WEBCAMS INDICATE THAT A MIX OF FREEZING DRIZZLE AND LIGHT SNOW IS CAUSING SLICK SPOTS TO DEVELOP OVER EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS AND MUCH OF THE MISSOURI OZARKS. AREAS OF FREEZING DRIZZLE AND BRIEF LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS CAN BE EXPECTED THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THIS AFTERNOON. * TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...THROUGH 3 PM THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS AND MUCH OF THE MISSOURI OZARKS. * SNOW AND ICE ACCUMULATION...A DUSTING OF SNOW ACCUMULATION WILL BE POSSIBLE. FREEZING DRIZZLE WILL PRODUCE A THIN GLAZE OF A TRACE TO A FEW HUNDREDTHS OF AN INCH OF ICE ACCUMULATION. * IMPACTS...COLD ROAD AND BRIDGE SURFACES WILL CAUSE ANY PRECIPITATION TO FREEZE ON CONTACT. EVEN IF IT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE MUCH PRECIPITATION HAS OR IS OCCURRING...THE ROADS WILL BECOME SLICK WITH EVEN JUST A SMALL AMOUNT OF SNOW OR FREEZING DRIZZLE. USE CAUTION IF TRAVELING THIS MORNING.
