Chairman of House investigating committee; Greitens would have been convicted

With the seamless transition to Mike Parson as governor, there are times when Eric Greitens seems like just a fading memory.

In a special report on KMBC in Kansas City, Rep. Jay Barnes, R-Jefferson City, the chairman of the House special investigative committee that examined allegations against Greitens said he believes the former governor would have been convicted on charges of misusing the donor list from his not-for-profit charity The Mission Continues.

"The property of the charity is the property of the charity," Barnes tells KMBC reporter Michael Mahoney in the accompanying video. "It's not the founder's information. It's not the board of directors' information. It is held in trust."

The use of the donor list in raising money was only one of the problems that surfaced with the millions Greitens collected for his 2016 campaign.

The former governor also came under fire for a $1.875 million contribution, at the time the largest in Missouri history, that he received from the shadowy Seals for Truth. The true source of the money has never been determined.

He has to be a hero of Harvey Hutchinson, Billy Long, Blunt and Trump. Oh, what a minute, he did not get away with it like they have and did.
