Judge to former Jasper fireman's lawyer: You're stuck with him

Judge Gayle Crane this morning overruled a motion by the attorney for a former Jasper Fire Protection District charged with child molestation and sodomy to withdraw from the case.

Elizabeth Turner will remain the attorney for Jerred Taffner, 30, until he hires another lawyer or is approved for public defender services.


Taffner's arraignment was also held and he pleaded not guilty.

His next hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. October 29.

Taffner is being held in the Jasper County Jail without bond.
