Autopsy today for former Joplin resident who died in Newton County Jail

An autopsy for a Newton County Jail inmate who was found dead in his cell Friday is being conducted today, Sheriff Chris Jennings told KOAM.

Online court records did not indicate why Forrest Stockton, 30, was being held, according to KOAM.

The most recent case.net listings, all for traffic violations, show his address as Noel. Previously, he had lived in Joplin, Webb City and Carl Junction.

Social media reacted with Stockton's friends sharing the accompanying YouTube video of him performing a song on acoustic guitar.

How long does it take to release the files on an autopsy. Doesn't it seem like it should be finished and released by now

I remember a couple yrs ago when my uncle passed, it took them 30 days to release the results.. we have to remember an internal investigation will more than likely happen as well..
