McCaskill: I'm fighting tooth and nail to defend our health care from the Republicans

(From Sen. Claire McCaskill)

On July 4, 1776, Congress approved the Declaration of Independence and created a country built on the ideals of freedom, equality, and hard work.

That Thursday, a young and scrappy bunch of folks turned the world upside down and changed the course of history forever. Looking back a few hundred years later, our American experiment has shown the world that freedom was worth fighting for.

But as we’ve learned, the values we share must be fought for again and again and again.

That’s why I’m fighting tooth and nail to defend our healthcare from Republicans who try to undermine and sabotage our system every chance they get.

“Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”

That’s why I’ve traveled across Missouri holding town halls — because I serve folks like you. My likely opponent Josh Hawley? He’s responding to the beck and call of special interests.

“Deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.”

I love my home state. I love this diverse, vibrant country. That’s why I’m fighting every day to make sure we live up to the values of our Founding Fathers.

To those of you that are with me in this fight, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Now, let’s get back to work.

Happy Independence Day,

Claire

November 8th she’s toast; if she votes against President Trump’s Supreme Court nomination, then she’s scorched toast-/ nothing but ashes.

The reality is, she’ll stay in the DC swamp and make millions for being a scum bag

You need to disappear from public office, Claire. You are a vote- with -the- party candidate, using your office to get richer.

You mean the Affordable Care Act? That the one where everyone gets insurance, not just those who are healthy and wealthy?

That's the one. The one that doubled the premiums of everyones insurance while forcing people under penalty of law to buy worthless insurance that they can't even use because the deductible is more than their annual income. Aka "affordable care act" or Obamacare to some.
