First meeting of state Drought Assessment Committee to be held July 26

Governor Parson’s Executive Order 18-05 instructs the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to convene the Drought Assessment Committee. 

State and federal partners serve on the committee to provide information, recommendations and coordination to mitigate impacts of this drought.

The first meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 26, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Lewis and Clark State Office Building, 1101 Riverside Drive, Jefferson City. Meetings are open to the public.

Executive Order 18-05 declared a drought alert for 47 Missouri counties that are in severe or extreme drought.
