Troy Onstott to leave Children's Mercy Hospital much earlier than expected

Good news about the recovery of 10-year-old Troy Onstott, son of T. J. and Jill Onstott of Lamar is included in Jill's latest Facebook update.

Troy will be leaving Children's Mercy Hospital, where he has been recovering for almost five weeks from injuries suffered in a UTV accident, sometime around the middle of the month.

Day 33:

The last couple of weeks Troy has amazed not only us, but his therapists too. They have not set the exact date of discharge but he will definitely be leaving Children’s Mercy earlier than expected, around the 16th. We will be making a big decision this week deciding on outpatient rehab. So many wonderful places to choose from and I pray that God leads us to just where we need to be the next 3 months.

God- we are blessed with the biggest most loving, giving support team anyone could dream of. 

I know you have purposely placed these people in our lives to climb this mountain with us, to help push us when we’re down, pull us when we’re stuck, fuel us when we’re empty, sit with us when we simply need to rest. Someone is here for us at every switchback. 

You make sure that we’re never alone. Please lord, continue to work through my family and through Troy. Give us the strength to conquer another week in this hospital. Please help us to make the right decision choosing our outpatient facility. 

I know you will guide us to what fits Troy and our family best. Show us the way Lord, and we will go. We love you with our whole heart.
