Police still seeking witnesses to heavily armed man's stroll through Springfield Wal-Mart

Springfield Police are seeking witnesses to the incident Thursday at the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Center on Republic road when a man wearing body armor and sporting an assault-style rifle and a handgun panicked shoppers.

In a news release issued today, the department said it was still looking into the incident and it is "committed to ensuring a complete and thorough investigation is conducted.

"If you were present and were not contacted by an officer at the scene, or you were, but have not yet had a chance to tell you story to a detective, please contact the Springfield Police Department by calling 417-864-1810 or by e-mailing SPDMail@SpringfieldMO.gov."

Dimitriy Andreychenko, 20, (pictured) said he was conducting a social experiment and told his wife he wanted to find out if "Wal-Mart honored the Second Amendment."

Andreychenko was charged with making a terroristic threat, a felony and is free after posting $10,000 bond. His next hearing is 10 a.m. September 16 in Greene County Circuit Court.
