KC Police working with Homeland Security after Reddit post threatens biggest mass shooting in history at KC or Independence Wal-Mart

The Kansas City Police Department confirmed in a Facebook message an hour ago that it is aware of a message that was posted on Reddit and has been spread across the internet threatening "the biggest mass shooting in modern American history" at a local Wal-Mart.

Whoever wrote the message said the attack might take place at a Kansas City or Independence Wal-Mart.

The police message thanked those who have informed the police abour the threat and said the department is working with federal authorities to deal with the situation.








We are getting a ton of messages right now regarding a threat of violence at a local WalMart that was posted on Reddit and elsewhere. We became aware of this threat yesterday and have been working with Homeland Security to address it.

The Reddit message claims two people are planning the attack and have two AR15s and 22 pipe bombs.

The person who wrote the Reddit post says after the attack the two will kill themselves and will leave their motivation for their actions in a message on their phones.
