(From the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education)

Department staff is saddened to report the death of a contracted medical consultant in south St. Louis County. Dr. Terry Dunn was killed in the parking lot of his office at Lindbergh and Lemay Ferry at about 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

Police have a suspect in custody, and they do not believe the public or Department staff is at risk. Staff members are assisting police in their investigation and will continue to help detectives in the case.

Dr. Dunn has been contracted with the St. Louis Disability Determination Services (DDS) office since 2001 to provide psychological consultation services to DDS staff.

Kimberly Kaemmerer, St. Louis DDS district manager, spoke highly of Dr. Dunn, saying, "He has been a valued medical consultant, who was well liked by staff. He will be missed."

The Department is assembling a crisis team to support employees affected by this loss to the DDS office and the community.

Terry Lee Dunn received his Ph.D. in counseling from St. Louis University in 1998.

(Note: Dunn's son was arrested for the murder.)
