Hawley: Nike is a symbol of everything wrong with the corporate economy

Anyone who doesn't respect our flag and all the lives that died for our freedom defending it, should leave the country. They disgust me.

What disgusts me is intolerance of the 1st Amendment to the US constitution, that every man that died in service to his country swore an oath to, not to one of many flags this country has flown including the Confederate flag. The Lincoln Memorial includes the Gettysburg Address was an attempt to unite our country by stating to the southerners that supported it that our nation would have “malice towards none; charity for all”. Lincoln reminded everyone of the clause in the Constitution that stated “all men were created equal” and that slavery was wrong. Possibly the greatest speech by any patriot ever, and one that unites not divides, which should be our focus on our nation’s birthday instead of displaying ignorance.

This was about selling shoes and the colonial flag is unique and would sell a product, and I fear that the current flag would not. The stars would also be so many that it would have distorted the shoe graphics. I understand where Kaepernick is coming from and Nike should have used today's American flag or something else red/white/blue. We need to stay in the present and learn from the past.
