Hillary Muehlberger of Greenwood (near Kansas City) has been crowned Miss Wheelchair America during ceremonies held earlier this week.
Muehlberger broke her back in an accident four years ago and lost the use of her legs.
In the accompanying video from Kansas City's 41 Action News, Muehlberger talks about what happened to her and how she has taken charge of her life and intends to fight for the rights of the disabled.
