Lamar community thanked for support for Troy Onstott, family, more improvements reported

In the latest update on the condition of Troy Onstott, 10, son of T. J. and Jill Onstott, Lamar, at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City following a UTV accident, Jill offers her family's appreciation to the people of Lamar for helping the Onstotts as they continue along the road to recovery.

A benefit for the Onstott family was held this evening in Lamar.

Day 17:

Today, we simply want to shine a light on our community. We love you, Lamar. You have never once allowed us to feel alone in our darkest time, blowing us away with your love and support. To say that we’re thankful would be an understatement.

We can’t wait to bring our TroyBoy home.
And in God’s timing, we will

Dear Heavenly Father- I ask that you wrap your arms around Lamar tomorrow. I pray that you keep everyone safe as the area joins together to show their support at TroyBoy’s Benefit.

You MUST be smiling down watching everyone come together in love and prayer, I know we’re smiling down from KC!

It’s in your name I pray,
AMEN

Day 16 was good to us. We were cleared to give Troy 10 bites per meal of anything puréed. He is catching on quickly. Before you know it, he’ll be chowin down on a Big Mac!
His steps are getting so much better and he’s helping to pull himself up to stand almost to the point where I’m not holding onto him, he’s holding onto me and using me for balance. And how sweet is this video of him laying his head on his therapist’s shoulder. This was his very last task to finish his day so he was exhausted. I’m so proud of him!
