Hearing postponed for man accused of killing Trevor Webb

A pre-trial conference originally scheduled for Tuesday for Ryan Smith, Joplin, 21, who is charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the February 22 murder of Trevor Webb, 30, Joplin, has been rescheduled.

Court records indicate that Smith's lawyer withdrew from the case causing the delay. The hearing has been rescheduled for 9 a.m. Monday, March 23 before Judge Greg Stremel in Newton County Circuit Court.

Smith is being held in the Newton County Jail with a $250,000 cash only bond.
