As noted earlier today in the Turner Report, Doshier sent an e-mail to elementary principals letting them know that any teacher who was not able to make it to school today because of the weather conditions would have to make that day up, either by using one of their personal days or after the school year ends.
But will Jennifer Doshier have to make up the day she will spend at Tan-Tar-A Monday, March 16, when she speaks at the annual Missouri Association of Elementary Principals Association Conference? Normally that would seem like a proper place for an executive director of elementary education to be but her speaking topic has nothing whatsoever to do with the Joplin R-8 School District (or at least that is what members of the C. J. Huff Administration say).
Doshier, Huff, and former R-8 director of communication and community development (they certainly love those titles) Kim Vann will talk about Bright Futures USA, the not-for-profit which supposedly has no connection whatsoever to do Bright Futures Joplin, but has been allowed to maintain headquarters on taxpayer-financed facilities for more than three years without a paying a cent for rent or utilities.
According to the publicity for the event:

The belief that each individual community has the ability to help every one of its children thrive is a core value of Bright Futures USA. Bright Futures USA uses its established framework to help communities and schools partner to quickly and efficiently meet student basic needs, often within 24 hours. Bright Futures operates under the belief that when communities invest their time, talent, and treasure in children and schools, students are more likely to stay in school through graduation, have a higher degree of self-worth and confidence, and set and reach goals for the future. In turn, these students grow up to be better neighbors, quality employees, and impactful leaders in their communities. It is a win for all parties involved. Bright Futures is currently present in 30 communities in the states of Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Virginia, Oklahoma, and North Carolina and helps meet the needs of over 150,000 students.
Huff has spent at least three workdays this year away from the district promoting Bright Futures USA.

Tax Payers want to know what day she will be making up her time on?
And the plot thickens ... do as I say not as I do.
I am guessing since it spring break she won't have to make it up. Bet money that that bitch didn't stay in.her office all day.
Tax payers may actually save money when these people are out of town and not trying to hep.
The 16th is NOT a working day. It is during Spring Break!
6:30, how dare you insult the Tards with facts!
Why would administration take off for "Spring Break"? Aren't they elite professionals? "Spring Break" isn't a thing on my professional work calendar.
You do realize the term "Tard" is incredibly offensive, right? Do you use the n-word, too?

He just uses the second syllable. ,.,
i.e., "Ger."
If she's on a 12 month contract, she doesn't have spring break.
To me the bigger issue isn't when they are going, it is that they are going at all. If Bright Futures USA is truly just a leech on the R8's resources and not a part of R8, then R8 administration should not be promoting it. If they go, it should be at their expense or BF USA expense. Not R8's. The materials they take should come out of the BF USA budget and not R8's, too.
The Joplin School District needs more communities to sign on to BF USA. They take a disproportionate amount of funds and squeeze the other participating communities. The more school districts they can recruit for BF USA, the more they can squeeze out of the funds for themselves. We found that out the hard way. I would give my district name, but that would obviously put me at risk. Think twice before you let the speech suck you into this deal.
Wonder if Ole Bessendorfer, and Huffy are meeting up to reunite.
Jennifer Doshier is a clown, total and complete fool. She pulled the same crap at McKinley. She would show up at school with no car, her daughter would drop her off, classy. She would show up late, a lot of mornings after 845, with no reason or school related activity. She would let the current Curriculm Director leave at will and show up at will, basically she did whatever she wanted, and still does. She would have you sit in her office and talk about what a great Christian she was, while chomping down Big R's and getting it all, over her clothes. In fact, I'm curious how she paid for the 6 weeks she was gone on school time after gastric bypass surgery? She is the biggest 2 faced liar I've ever known. I can't wait until she starts getting rid of good administrators, because she will. She ran off all of the decent teachers at McKinley.
